| Screen printers need information
before
they can give you a quote...
1. DO YOU HAVE ARTWORK? (printers will charge for any art or
film work they produce.) The usual fee can be up to $35 per
color - we charge $15
2. HOW MANY SHIRTS ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE PRINTED? (the more
shirts you print, the lower the cost per shirt.)
3. HOW MANY COLORS ARE YOU GOING TO PRINT ON THE SHIRT? (the
more colors or complicated the print job the higher the price
per shirt).
4. HOW MANY SIDES ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE PRINTED. (is your shirt
going to be printed on the front or back or sleeve or all?)
5. WHEN DO YOU NEED YOUR SHIRTS? (the normal production time
is 5 to 10 days.) Printers will charge you a RUSH charge if
you need shirts in a hurry. If possible, we DO NOT generally
charge rush fees if we can accomadate you. *
What to ask when shopping for a T-shirt printer:
1. DO YOU DO ALL YOUR OWN PRINTING? most times, you will deal
with a person that does all his or her work at their location
or they will be a 'broker' that actually has another printer
do the work for them. WE DO ALL OF OUR WORK IN-HOUSE. We have
two automatic printing presses (up to 7 colors per side) and
1 4 color manual press on our premises. That is 1 reason we
do not offer embroidery services at the moment, we do have have
in-house embroidery machines at this time. WE DO ALL OF OUR
WORK IN-HOUSE!
2. What is your policy if you mess up my order? You want someone
who will answer this question with "Customer satisfaction is
primary". If a company isn't willing to stand behind their work
100%, than keep looking. We will make sure you are 100% satisfied.
3. What if I want more shirts printed, do you charge any setup
fees? Some printers will charge you a setup fee to reprint an
order. We will not charge set-up fees or screen fees for reorders
within 6 months.
4. Who owns the Artwork? Film Positives? Screens? "The customer
owns the artwork and film positives if they have paid for them.
The screens remain the property of the printer but won't be
used for anyone else." This will save a lot of hassle if you
ever decide to move to another printer later. We keep all artwork
on file in our computer system for you.
5. What is your turnaround? A good turn-a-round is 5 to 10 days.
Most printers will charge a RUSH CHARGE if you want it sooner.
We try NOT TO charge for rush orders, but sometimes it will
be necessery.*
6. Do you have a list of customers I can call? Let the printer
give you references and check them out. We list our clients
on our website for everyone to see.
7. How is your price compared to other printers? Don't always
go with the lowest price. Some printers charge a little more
but are worth it. Our prices are published on our website. Most
printers keep their price lists "secret" - meaning
they will charge whatever they can get out of the customer.
WE DO NOT DO THAT. See our PUBLISHED prices on our website.
8. Why should I use you instead of another printer? Look for
a printer that will guarantee customer satisfaction. We guarantee
customer satisfaction!! We are local. Local is good. You can
come by and see us in operation. We are 2 miles from Harvard
and Central Squares.
9. What if you miss my deadline? You want someone who will be
honest with you and not make excuses. Most printers will do
everything within there power to make sure you get your shirts
on time even if they have to work late or deliver them to you.
We will try our utmost to keep your deadline date. We are 99.9%
ontime! If we are running behind your schedule, we will let
you know asap and make any accomadations you need.
I hope this gives you a little better understanding of what
to expect when talking to a printer.

* RUSH CHARGES - generally, we DO NOT
charge rush fees if we can accomodate you. During certain times
of the year it will be necessary to charge rush fees if you
need your shirts in less then 5 to 10 business days. This is
our policy.
That means during this time, most orders will be 5 to 10 days
in getting done from the time you submit your order. If we can
accomodate you in any way possible, we will.
We found it necessary to institute this policy during certain
times to accomodate delivery in a timely fashion of all t-shirt
print jobs. This way we can guarantee that your job WILL BE
completed on time. If we ask for rush fees for a particluar
job, that means we are already booked for that week. Then we
stay late, keep the lights burning and keep the presses running
just for your job. It also mean that we put your job ahead of
others.
The fees for ALL jobs that need to be
done in less then 6 business days (large or small) during the
year and especially during the above times is as follows:
5 - 10 days - regular price
4 - 5 days - add 25% to total
3 days - add 50% to total
24 - 48 hr turnaround (from time when art is delivered) - add
100%to total.
Screen fees are NOT included in rush fees.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
REORDERS - reorders are gladly accepted on the condition that
the order is for a minimum of 24 shirts, sweats, etc and that
the price is based on the reorder amount of shirts - NOT THE ORIGINAL
cost per shirt of the original order.
There is also a 10 day minimum for all reorders. This is our
policy - no exceptions. We found it necessary to institute this
policy to accomodate delivery in a timely fashion of all t-shirt
print jobs.
If a job is cancelled
after confirmation of an order,
There will be a 15% cancellation fee.
